The AmeriCorps VISTA Program is a national service program designed to alleviate poverty with over 75,000 Americans joining each year. VISTA Members make a year-long, full-time commitment and Summer Associates commit to 10 weeks in the summer to serve on a project at a Free and Charitable Clinic, a Public Health Department, or a Social Service Agency. With passion, commitment, and hard work, VISTA Members aid in bringing individuals and communities out of poverty while improving access to quality health care.
WAFCC VISTA Members and Summer Associates help create access to quality health care for the uninsured and underserved populations in Wisconsin. They focus their efforts on building organizational, administrative, and financial capacity of the safety-net. Projects may include reducing substance/opiate abuse, implementing Standards of Excellence, researching grants, and gathering data on social determinants of health. If you are a legal resident 18 years or older you are encouraged to apply! Explore our current opportunities by clicking here. |
