AmeriCorps and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention joined forces to launch Public Health AmeriCorps to support the recruitment, training, and development of the next generation of public health leaders who will be ready to respond to the nation’s public health needs.
WAFCC Public Health AmeriCorps (PHA) Members will serve at Free and Charitable Clinics (FCCs), Public Health Departments, and Social Service Agencies. This program will engage 28 full-time and 6 part-time AmeriCorps Members. PHA Members will provide continued COVID-19 pandemic support, help combat the opioid epidemic, strengthen telehealth capabilities, procure volunteers, and more.
