There are ~95 free & charitable clinics in Wisconsin serving almost every county in the state. Free & charitable clinics are the safety-net provider for over 150,000 Wisconsin residents. Following the Affordable Care Act, the uninsured rate in Wisconsin remains close to 5.3% with many counties still in the double digits for uninsured; and, even more residents do not have dental insurance or access to mental health services.
WAFCC is an association that works to represent and promote Wisconsin's free and charitable clinics. WAFCC tells the story of Wisconsin's safety-net clinic, their communities, their patients, and their continued need. Until there is no longer a need for free and charitable clinics, WAFCC will be here advocating for Wisconsin's vulnerable populations and for the elimination of health disparities.
