On Monday, August 26th, WAFCC traveled to Madison to kick off WAFCC on the Road! Specialty Care Free Clinic hosted at their clinic where they provide vital specialty care services to 12 nearby counties. Specialty Care Free Clinic is the ONLY specialty care clinic in the state of Wisconsin. Sheila Martin, Specialty Care Free Clinic Executive Director, opened the event with an overview of their clinic. WAFCC Executive Director, Dennis Skrajewski and staff then provided present and future initiatives followed by a town hall. On Tuesday, August 27th, WAFCC made their way to St. Clare Health Mission located in La Crosse for the second stop along the way for WAFCC on the Road. Attendees had a chance to tour the facility and learn about their valuable partnership with Mayo, Gunderson, and Bellin Health Systems to field CHWs in the local area. On August 28th, WAFCC visited Wausau at the Wausau Free Clinic for their third stop along the route. Attendees learned about the Community Partner's Campus, Wausau Free Clinic's programming, and how they're addressing social determinants of health in their communities. We also celebrated Wausau Free Clinic's Silver Seal of Excellence, achieved earlier this year! Thank you Representative Patrick Snyder for attending the event. On August 28th, WAFCC traveled to Appleton for the fourth WAFCC on the Road event! Sandy Drexler, Executive Director of Tri-County Dental welcomed attendees into their dental clinic and provided updates on successes with their mobile dental bus, new pilot programs, and how they're addressing upstream challenges to oral healthcare. For our final stop during WAFCC on the Road, WAFCC staff visited Lake Area Free Clinic in Oconomowoc! Special thank you to Lake Area Free Clinic for hosting us. We started the visit off with a round table discussion with clinic Executive Director, Mary Reich and shared highlights in both medical and dental clinics.
