- WAFCC on the Road - September 14 - 17th, 2026
- Over four days, WAFCC traveled throughout Wisconsin to convene regional gatherings that united clinics and community leaders for meaningful discussion, knowledge sharing, and relationship building. The events took place at Oral Health Partnership, St. Clare Health Mission, Mercy Dental Missions, and Lake Area Free Clinic. During these visits, we shared WAFCC updates, connected with community members and partners, went on host clinic tours, and most importantly, listened to the stories and experiences that demonstrate the tremendous impact these clinics have on the individuals and communities they serve each day. We were also pleased to connect with community partners and stakeholders, with over 30 attendees participating throughout the week. Thank you to the staff, volunteers, and community leaders who welcomed us during these visits. We look forward to continuing these conversations and supporting your important work!
- Highlights from WAFCC on the Road:
- Green Bay: WAFCC visited Oral Health Partnership and discussed the legislative needs of free clinics with Wisconsin State Senator James Wall (District 30) and Hava Zodrow, representing Senator Rachael Cabral-Guevara.
- La Crosse: Community Health Workers (CHWs) from St. Clare Health Mission shared information about their partnerships and work at both Mayo Clinic Health System and Emplify Health hospitals in La Crosse.
- Madison: WAFCC staff met with Mercy Dental Mission to discuss the significant challenges facing free and charitable dental clinics across Wisconsin.
- Oconomowoc: WAFCC staff joined Lake Area Free Clinic in celebrating its 25th anniversary and learned more about current clinic operations, successes, and challenges.
- WAFCC Executive Leader Retreat - April 29th, 2026
- On Wednesday, April 29, WAFCC hosted the 2026 Executive Leader Retreat at the Commons Nonprofit Center in Stevens Point, WI. Clinic Executive Leaders from across the state came together for a meaningful day of connection and learning. The day was filled with insightful presentations, valuable discussions, networking, and plenty of laughter. We were joined by facilitators from LEAP Nonprofit Consulting, Solutions for Changemakers, and Americares, who guided conversations on development efforts, succession planning, and extreme weather preparedness. We wrapped up the retreat with a prize drawing featuring generous donations from local Stevens Point businesses! Thank you to everyone who joined us and to our sponsors, presenters, and partners who helped make this event a success! This event also aligned with the 2026 Free and Charitable Clinic Week. This week was dedicated to recognizing the extraordinary impact FCCs have on communities across Wisconsin and celebrating their essential role in improving health and strengthening communities statewide.
